Egg-stremely Wet Easter!!!

Date Added: 29/03/2018

Easter is finally here and we are pleased to say we’re back on track with planting. All seedlings planted so far are all safely under covers to ensure they grow whilst the soil temperatures are low. We cover our newly planted crops to create a greenhouse effect, allowing the plants to grow faster.

With Easter forecasts showing lots of showers for the bank holiday and the first few days of the month, we’re hoping that there’s plenty of sunshine with fewer showers and warmer temperatures on the forecast for the following weeks.

Soon after Easter, we’ll focus on planting Potatoes as we aim to plant all our seed Potatoes in a four-week window if possible.

Lincolnshire Kale is soon coming to an end, however, don’t worry Spanish Kale will soon be ready to take over for a few months before new season Lincs Kale is ready to harvest from June onwards.

Cabbages are now being stored to carry us through until the new Cabbages are ready.

Spring Greens have now finished in Cornwall but will now be harvested in Lincolnshire.
Spring Greens and Purple Sprouting Broccoli are currently in season and both vegetables are great served with Lamb for your Easter Roast!

Finally, we would like to say have a ‘hoppy’ Easter filled with plenty of Chocolate and Fresh Lincolnshire Vegetables!!!
