Leeks

Here at TH Clements we grow 6 varieties of Leeks and harvest from June to April.
We store Leeks all year round and supplement our stocks, if needed, with Dutch and Spanish supply.
Our Spanish growing partners supply us with high quality products to give us continuity of other cabbages when UK supply isn't available.

More about our Leeks

  • Like Garlic and Onions, Leeks are a member of the Allium family.
  • Leeks are a lot milder and sweeter than the other members of the Allium family.
  • An extremely versatile vegetable, they can be used to enhance a wide range of recipes from Soups to Risottos ...
  • The Leek is also the National emblem of Wales and has been for at least 700 years. One was even sown into Queen Elizabeth II's coronation gown to symbolise Wales.
  • Hippocrates, the ancient Greek physician and 'father of medicine', prescribed Leeks as a cure for nosebleeds.
  • Leeks are a great source of Vitamin K. They are also packed full with manganese, Vitamin B6, Copper, Iron, Foloate, Vitamin A and C.
