Creamy Cabbage
Ingredients
- 1 cabbage (de-core and shred)
- 50g Diced bacon
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ teaspoon Paprika
- 1/8 teaspoon of Pepper
- 190ml Milk
- 1 cup Soft bread crumbs
Recipe
- Boil cabbage for 7 minutes, drain and place in a large casserole dish
- Fry bacon; remove and drain all but 2 tablespoons of the dripping.
- Stir in flour, salt and paprika into the pan with the dripping ; add milk slowly and cook until thickened.
- Pour sauce over cabbage, top with breadcrumbs and sprinkle with bacon.
- Bake for 15 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 1900c / 3750F / Gas mark 5
