The rain may have stopped for now, but unfortunately there is more unwanted rain on the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Sunshine has returned and along with warm winds, the land is starting to dry out on top, however underneath it is still incredibly wet. Travelling in fields is still extremely difficult and harvesting is still physically demanding for both man and machine. Our tractors and trailers are still sinking into the muddy fields and need to be towed to safety. Harvesting teams have cancelled their gym memberships, as they are currently getting a work-out each day they are trudging through the squelchy fields. Even though land conditions are challenging, unfortunately ready to harvest crops will not wait until it's easier to harvest and the supermarket shelves will not stock themselves!
